Athens Biennale's edgy ANTI concept came to life in 2018. A clash of opposites, civilizations, cultures, techniques and ideologies set in a dystopic present, creates new balances and environments.
The design for the two catalogues as well as all print and digital material aimed to create an overwhelming juxtaposition of opposing images that echoes the constant bombardment of contradicting information and emotions experienced in modern media and social media outlets.
The deliberate and obstinate use of common stock and found images as well as one of the most extensivelly used font families (Arial) throughout the design material, serves as a comment on the banality and predictability of social media aesthetics.
