Archive and Feminist Theory:
a self-historization practice
Illustrations and layout from the eBook Archive and Feminist Theory, by Eirini-Marina Dafermou.
Researching the femicide of three women refugges that occured at the greek border in 2018 and using the research methods provided by post-collonial and feminist studies, the author attempts to recreate their story and discusses the possibilities of a feminist archive, or an archive for the ones that are unable to speak. An archive of ghosts.
The design uses the three ‘ghosts’ as a starting point of the narration. A continuous handmade line that stretches throughout the book, connecting the illustrations, symbolizes the author’s personal touch and research, The ‘ghost shapes’ are constantly tranformed to describe chapter titles and other meanings.
